Cheesy Potato Nuggets

We all have cravings for spicy cheesy snacks. Here’s how to make homemade potato nuggets to satisfy your cheesy & spicy cravings. You can find all the ingredients at home easily. Now let's start making potato nuggets.

 

01) Ingredients

·  2 large potatoes

·  1/4 cup of bread crumbs

·  1/2 cup of Grated cheese (You can use processed cheese or cheddar cheese)

·  1 teaspoon of dried chili flakes

·  1 teaspoon of pepper

·  Salt to taste

·  Pinch of chopped ginger & garlic (optional)

For the batter

·  2 tablespoon of cornflour

·  Water

·  Pinch of salt

2) Directions

·  First, let's start by boiling the potatoes. Then, peel the potatoes and smash it using a smasher or else you can use a grater and grate it.

·  Combine potatoes, cheese, chili flakes, pepper, bread crumbs, ginger, garlic, and salt in a bowl. (Quantities as mentioned under ingredients) If you feel there are lumps in the mixture smash the potatoes using your hands.

·  Cover the mixture well and refrigerate this for at least an hour. Refrigerating will help to shape the nuggets and also to fry them without breaking. Otherwise, the nuggets will try to break when shaping and frying.

·  For the batter, mix cornflour, water, and salt. (Quantities as mentioned under ingredients) Don't add too much water. This batter should not have any lumps.

·  After 1 hour take the mixture out and shape the nuggets. (Size as your preference)

·  Then dip the nuggets in the batter and coat with bread crumbs. You have to double coat the nuggets before frying.

·  Take a deep non-stick pan and add oil into it. Let the oil get hot. Then deep fry the nuggets on a medium flame until the nuggets turn in to golden brown color. Flip the nuggets until both sides turn in to golden brown color.

·  Once the frying is done transfer it to a kitchen towel to drain the excess oil before serving.

You can serve this delicious snack hot with some tomato ketchup. Enjoy with your family.
